iCloud and Passcode Bypass Tutorials

Notes

These tutorials will only recommend FOSS software that has been verified to be trustworthy
Most of these guides expect you to be booted into a SSH Ramdisk.
Follow the tutorial here for how to do that.

Setup.app removal (iOS 5-11, A4-A11)

Mount the root partition (tutorial)
Use cd to navigate to where the root partition is mounted. (if you used the tutorial, it will be /mnt1/)
Navigate to the Applications folder: cd Applications
Move Setup.app so it can't be launched: mv Setup.app Setup.app.bak

Drawbacks:
Tethered, you will need to use Legacy-iOS-Kit to boot the device every reboot.
Cannot activate cell service. (but all the devices this works on are too old for that to matter)
Cannot sign into iCloud. (can still sign into the app store)
Cannot sideload apps with tools like Sideloadly. (only relevant for iOS 8-11)

Advantages:
Very easy to do.

Infinite Passcode Attempts for 4 digit PIN (iOS 1?-10, All 32-Bit devices)

Mount the data partition (tutorial)
Use cd to navigate to where the data partition is mounted. (if you used the tutorial, it will be /mnt2/)
Navigate to this folder: cd mobile/Library/Preferences
Open this file in (an editor? not sure which ones ramdisk has. will update if i find out): nano com.apple.springboard.plist
Find the line including SBDeviceLockFailedAttempts and change the number to -9999
Save the file and close the editor
You can now try to enter every 4 digit pin, and the device will not disable itself

Drawbacks:
Takes a very long time to put in all of those PINs.
If the device has Find My enabled, you still cannot reset it after getting in.

Advantages:
Does not wipe device data.

oh my goodness! send her straight to hell! she is bypassing theft protection on 15 year old devices that would be thrown away otherwise!
